Andros Swimming Challenge 2025: Dive into the Crystal Waters of Andros!
After the success of the first year with the Andros Trail Challenge races, A.M.K.E. Andros Challenge & Festival enriches the event with swimming routes in the framework of the 2nd Andros Trail Challenge 2025, which will be held on the island of Andros, from 30 May to 1 June 2025.
The Andros Swimming Challenge will take place on Sunday 1 June 2025. There are three routes and depending on how familiar you are with the water, you will surely find the one that suits you.
1. Open Sea 11km
The start will be from the beach of Neiborio in Chora of Andros and the finish will be at Korthi Bay. In case of adverse weather conditions, an alternative route has been provided which will start at Agia Marina beach in Batsi, Andros and finish at Apothikes beach in the area.
2. Discover Coastal 3km
The start will be from the beach Tis Grias to Pidima, to the bay of Korthi on Andros and the finish will also be at the bay of Korthi. In case of adverse weather conditions, an alternative route has been provided which will start at Chalkolimonas beach in Stavropeda, Andros and finish at Apothikes beach in Stavropeda.
3. Explore Blue 1.7km
The start will be from the beach of Gria, the jump to the bay of Korthi on Andros and the finish will also be at the bay of Korthi. In case of adverse weather conditions, an alternative route has been provided which will start at Chalkolimionas beach in Stavropeda, Andros and finish at Apothikes beach in Stavropeda.
Each route has been designed so that all participants can enjoy the deep blue waters of Andros and live unprecedented experiences through this great sporting festival.
As a consequence of the above, Alexandros Argyris was chosen as Technical Director!
Alexandros Argyris was born in 1976 and grew up in Piraeus. He started to be involved in organized sports at the age of 13 years old with the sport of rowing, in the historical club "Group of Erets", where he was a champion from 1992 to 2005. During this period he participated in 9 national championships in which he managed to collect 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. Since then he has been involved in amateur sports with several distinctions in the sports of triathlon, open water swimming and mountain running. Since 2018 he has successfully organized 7 open water swimming races, 5 mountain running races, a rowing meet and 4 long distance running races.
