Cave Trypes
Trypes Cave in Andros
Trypes Cave in Andros is a small cave just north of Zorkos Beach on the northern side of the island. The cave is a creation of nature that is definitely worth discovering. It is truly one of the secrets of Andros and perhaps one of the most impressive spots you can find on the island. The view of the sea from the cave is incredible. It looks like a window overlooking the Aegean Sea.
Access to Trypes Cave
To find Trypes Cave, follow the Walking Trail 20 which starts just before Zorkos Beach. After a short walk of about 30 minutes, you will come across an opening among rocks to which you will need to make a small descent. After entering the cave, walk a few meters until you see the first rays of light from the rocks and then two large openings that look like eyes if viewed from the shore. It is advised you bring essentials with you, like food and water, as there isn't a store nearby. Access is relatively easy but requires caution.
