The village of Menites and its history
This area is associated with the ancient civilization and especially with the Dionysian cult. People in ancient times believed that the springs gush from the ancient temple of Dionysus and that wine runs from them on the day of its feast. Indeed, recent excavations have brought to light the ruins of an ancient temple very close to the springs. The residents carefully collected the water that ran from the crevices of the rocks since they believed that the water was sacred and used it only for ritual purpose and not for any ordinary use.
Enjoy the green natural landscape and the crystal clear water of the natural springs that comes out through marble lion heads.
